Wellness and Aromatherapy...

WELLNESS - is a condition of being healthy or sound

AROMATHERAPY involves the use of AROMAtic essential oils in a THERAPeutic manner.. Hence the name is a combination of two words. Essential oils are the liquid life essence of aromatic plants and flowers in a concentrated form.

Aromatherapy dates back to ancient times where it was used in medical and personal grooming practices. Ancients considered oils especially valuable and used them in embalming, for medicinal purposes, to fumigate homes, and as anesthetics.

Sensory nerves (olfactory) in our noses transmit data to our brains which
evoke feelings of hunger, happiness, pleasure, calm, and some aromas can even make us sick. These scents and emotions they create are called Aromatherapy There is no doubt that fragrance (good and bad!) will always influence our moods, our attitudes and our personalities.

Carefully chosen essences can put a person into a harmonious state of mind
which can make us more receptive for healing and Wellness. Aromatherapy can transport your body, mind, and spirit into a state of relaxation and renewal.

The benefits of Aromatherapy to create a state of Wellness are enormous. For example, during a massage or bath, appropriate, diluted essential oils can be absorbed through the skin and transported to the main body systems (nervous, muscular) for a healing effect. Or place a few drops on a pillowcase...or place a few drops on the carpet in your car (possibly under a seat)...or place a few drops on a bath towel...or place a few drops on a cotton ball and gently inhale.
